Marius Bernard
Craft canning company of delicacy products from Provence.
Marius Bernard was a baker working in Marseille (south of France) who decided to return to his native village: Saint-Chamas, (small Provence village bordering the lake of Berre), and aimed to use the wonders of his region to produce high quality products. He started to make syrop with apricots, peaches, pears, and offer it to the chefs of the area.
He made machines for stoning fruit, and organized production to sell his products in the region. Every day, he looked for raw material in local markets in order to offer quality products. The beginnings was difficult. But because of his expertise, the quality of the preparations and his selflessness, the business grew gradually, and his ratatouille, fish soup with saffron, feet and packets and riste eggplant, started to be reknowned in the region of Provence. Since 1992, the company built a new large kitchen to meet the needs of the customers. With these developments, the company now offers a complete range of delicacies “Made in Provence”, all natural, and cooked by local master chefs. Marius Bernard believed that high-quality is the result of many small details.
In 2007, Marius Bernard passed away at the age of 86. Every day, a devoted new generation continues to live by the cuisine, to keep alive his philosophy.
